The Mardi Gras Challenge

Two weeks ago, Jacqueline of Jacqueline’s Cat House challenged all her furriends to post pictures of themselves in elaborate masks in observance of Mardi Gras. The astounding amount of pictures that poured in just proves that humans aren’t the only ones to celebrate Fat Tuesday.

We enjoyed seeing many photos of our favorite furry bloggers in colorful beads and masks. We actually think that those masks look way better on pets than they do on us humans. You just have to see the pictures to understand what we mean. Actually, you can, because we’ve compiled a list of a few furry bloggers who participated in Jacqueline’s Mardi Gras Challenge on February 21st!

The sassy Derby and the cute Ducky, with help from their mom, found some beads and feathered masks. Derby posed handsomely in his black butterfly mask, while Ducky majestically showed off his green mask.

Since the two cats at Sweet Purrfections had French names, they jumped at the opportunity to celebrate their Frenchness. Brulee and Truffle went all out with bright masks and a sparkly pink parade car!

Brian decided to celebrate Mardi Gras sans mask, but with a jester hat! (Be sure to check out hisGreenville Ferals project, too!)

Not only did Tahoe and Winston wear hats, they also wore human costumes and danced to “Down in New Orleans”. We see that Tahoe has been a naughty girl, because she did what a ladycat had to do to get that necklace she was holding!

Remember Alasandra and her furchildren? Fenris caught a lot of beads, and he was proud to show them off! Maybe next year, he’ll challenge us to beat his bead count! Arty said she would rather play with the beads than wear them.

Eric and Flynn (remember them, too?) probably partied harder than all the other cats did on Mardi Gras. They even had fireworks!
Harley wasn’t shy to show us what he did to earn his beads… all with a sly smile on his face! What a gutsy mancat!

If you haven’t met a dog who would do anything for her 9 cat siblings, you will soon! Grete was sweet enough to put on a mask and head over to Jacqueline’s to represent her kitty sisters and brothers because they didn’t feel like celebrating Fat Tuesday.

If this keeps up, maybe we will have another Puppy Bowl craze, but this time with masks and beads on Fat Tuesday! There are people who would rather give beads to cats and dogs than to scantily-clad women! Maybe we’re all onto something great…
